GAS Night Out!! – 7th October 2017

Yet another successful event for GAS!

With the squad’s great show of form in the first two matches of the season team spirit is running even higher than usual, if that’s even possible.  Well, to make matters better GAS was scheduled during the one week break this past weekend, the decision was taken that it would be the perfect occasion for some team bonding, and so it was.

GAS Christmas Party

The evening following the disappointing defeat to PTT, all was forgotten as the GAS society got together for the annual Christmas party in some field… in the middle of some village… in the middle of nowhere! Families, friends and players arrived en masse to see out the year and enjoy the excellent food and beverages on offer. Some members of the squad from the game the previous day were simply topping up from the previous night whilst many others were letting their hair down for the beginning of the festive period.

Entertainment was provided as ever by Senior Hartwig on the mic with special guest appearances from Ivan’s singing sensation daughter (no idea where she gets that voice from) and the annual appearance from Father Christmas and his helper, the Italian twosome (who ultimately helped themselves to most of the available alcohol)

Many a beer (and liquor) were consumed on this fine evening and everybody involved had a great time as presents were handed out (questionable football shirts included) and jokes and stories were shared. On behalf of GAS we would like to thank everybody involved for putting on a fantastic evening and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

GAS starts new season with strong supporters

img-20160917-wa0023As an amateur football team and social club, GAS never aims to make a profit but is run by volunteers in order to offer the best events and conditions to all club members at minimal membership fee. For many years, the management has achieved to combine these objectives to the fullest and offeres many activities of which the recent weekend trip to Khao Yai is just one of many examples. The importance of our sponsors cannot be highlighted enough and we’re very happy to have continued strong support from our sponsors at Häfele, Bangkok Hospital, Deutsches Eck Restaurant and The Beer Company (click here to learn more about our sponsors). This year however, we’re particularly proud and happy to welcome a new main sponsor with Steinert Technology who are also shown on the front of the brand new team jerseys.

Steinert Technology distributes technical industrial consumables, equipment’s and machines and has more than 1,000 buying customers in the furniture, woodworking, Food & Beverage, Construction, Glass Processing as well as Textile & Automotive industry. Steinert Technology is committed to provide regional availability of German-made high quality products with very well experienced local available technical service and runs multinational sales organisations in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines. Dieter Steinert, Managing Director, pointed out that  “as a midsized German rooted company active in Thailand for almost 20 years, we felt dedicated to support the tradition of the German All Stars Team. The cooperation between Steinert Technology and German Allstars is based on mutual values of team spirit, eagerness and the will to succeed.”

3rd place for GAS at the Outlaws Saloon Cup on Koh Phangan

On the weekend of 3rd September it was time again to visit our friends from FC Farang on Koh Phangan to participate in their annual “Outlaws Saloon Cup”. As the title holders we tried eagerly to put a strong team together and defend the trophy, however finally just seven lads took the journey to one of the most beautiful islands of Thailand: Dao, Dave, Diego, Frodo, Gerd, Tan and Yilmaz. Not only having no  goal keeper in the squad, expectations have dropped even further recognizing that half of the squad is eligible and usually prefer to compete in Vets rather than in Open tournaments and three of the young lads came with slight injuries. Fortunately only one of them dropped out early and the other two could fight through nearly the whole tournament. Continue reading

written by David

The German All Stars visited Koh Phangan last weekend to participate in the Outlaws Saloon Cup, which was hosted by FC Farang. This was our first time entering the tournament. GAS were accompanied by friends from Finexsys who had travelled from Kuching, Malaysia.  The draw was held on Friday night and consisted of 8 teams in total. There were to be 2 groups. GAS were drawn in Group 2 alongside FC Farang C, Surat Penguins and Star Friend Fans. Unfortunately for GAS, Diego started with a fever and a sore throat on Friday night, which meant he was unable to play. The objective of the weekend was winning the cup for Diego. Continue reading
