Tim Heile (40),
a long time GAS member, run successful the 2012 Tokyo Marathon
Tim how was it?
I could only train one single time in February I decided to go for it! Turned out to be great.
Really a terrific course throughout the city and 1.6 million spectators and 36,000 runners. So fun but I had a lot of suffering from km 23 onwards and hit several walls.
But with the will to suffer it went all great.
Oh and here the times if you’re interested. Finish time is 3h 21minutes. Still ok. The net time is always in apprentices, first time counts from when the starting gun, and the net time is the real one, from when you cross the starting line. Every 5km is one ‘lap’ to see what the time is per 5km. As you can see I got slower towards the end as I was dead from km 30. But still super fun.

Hi Tim,
well done. I really like the words…….
…..”with the will to suffer it went all great”……
Words the younger GAS generation can learn from.
All the best and see you soon,
Hartwig
Take it from me this is not easy. Well done Tim! Great job.
Well done Haile!
