Friendly Match against Bangkok Glass FC
Friendly Match against Bangkok Glass FC on 12 September ’15

A week later, the Casuals team played the long-awaited friendly match against Bangkok Glass FC, one of the best Under 18 teams of Thailand, in their home stadium that holds up to 16,000 spectators. At the same time,  a second delegation of German All Stars traveled to Koh Phangan for the 3rd annual Outlaws Saloon Cup (see report here).

The match at Bangkok Glass FC turned out to be lots of fun and a nice way to start the season, playing in the stadium against some very talented youngsters. Again, the fitness of our players seemed to be key and everybody wondered whether they would be able to follow the speed of their opponents. Not too surprisingly, the match was only lost in the second half when stamina seemed to fade after the German All Stars nicely defended the 0:0 until half-time. Whoever expected a ‘beating’ was proven wrong as the match wasn’t as one-sided as some would have thought. Although three goals were conceded in the second half, we were able to create chances every now and then ourselves. Sadly, we were only able to score once although other opportunities presented themselves. Overall, the future professionals beat the German All Stars with only 3:1, making the whole day a fun event for everyone involved. Many thanks to Bangkok Glass FC and its Youth division for the fantastic day!
