Another sweltering day in Bangkok and yet another mouth watering encounter with GAS VS Siam Celtic for the second time this season. GAS looking to continue their emphatic run and Celtic looking to avenge their 2-0 loss from the first time the teams met.

As expected the game started fiery. Lots of challenges being put in. Chances few and far between for the first 15-20 minutes as most of the game was battled out in midfield. That was until once again, the reporters favourite Tommy Almond was brought down in the box after smartly skipping past the full back, the referee awarding a penalty. Looking to give back to more than one personal ‘feuds’ with the opposition, Craig decided to shoulder full responsibility and despite the best efforts of almost everyone on the opposing team, attempting to put off the midfielder, the penalty was cooly despatched. 1-0 GAS. Following this, GAS began to take control of the game. The back four looking solid with the slightly new-look line of Kalle at RB – unsurprisingly looking like he belonged. In a half of few chances, the game was seen out and HT remained at the same scoreline.

HT 1-0.

Second half was better from GAS. Controlling the game well. It didn’t take long for GAS to extend their lead through Philip who fantastically looped the ball over the helpless keeper from an acute angle. An audacious goal, thoroughly deserved by the ever hard working young man. Not long after, the returning Freeboy decided to try his luck from 30 yards but luck was not needed as the shot fired into the roof of the net. Superb goal from the very much welcomed back striker. Celtic managed to pull a goal back though this was only to be a consolation as MOM contender Fede rose like a horny Salmon to latch onto John’s cross following some jaw-dropping trickery making the scoreline, which ended as, 4-1. The scoreline could’ve easily been more have Freeboy not have thwarted two clear cut chances, one hitting the post and the other missing narrowly following a 1 on 1 nevertheless, a superb performance and a more than deserved 3 points.

Coincidentally Valentines weekend is upon us and GAS have a week off, during which time, will be able to enjoy the break from 1st place in the league!
