So, here it is, the last game of the season. Swealtering conditions, a less than perfect pitch and a stripped back squad saw GAS take on Flann O Briens formally known as Londoner FC in the final game of the season.

A picture perfect start saw GAS take the lead through what is without question the fastest goal in Bangkok Casuals’ history. Dom playing a ball out wide to Philip who whipped in an audacious cross for Thomas to raise like the horny little salmon he is, notching his first of the game. Great start. The game could’ve easily been 2-3 maybe even 4 goals to the good in the first 15 minutes with GAS looking to end in style. No longer than 10 minutes into the game saw Kalle and Ronny come off injured making an already slim squad, slimmer. Despite going into battle with half an army the second goal finally came when again Philip’s deflected cross landed to Thomas who once again showed the predatory instincts to smash home. Buying balls to play with is not the only he’s good at, evidently.

2-0 HT.

Things were not all rosy and the Londoner managed to pull the game back to 2-2.

5 minutes from time, up steps Carlos, galloping down the wing like the Mask of Zorro on a night out, taking matters into his own hands and decides to pull out from his locker an absolute worldly. Top corner strike from 20 yards. 3-2 GAS. Surely the last game was going to end in victory…… however, it was not meant to be.  With only moments left the Londoner right winger found himself in space down the wing after Damian appeared to turn like a cruise liner, failing to intercept their neatly played through ball, he drilled the ball across goal for a simple tap in. Londoner feeling fortunate and GAS feeling totally disappointed, dejected and knackered!

3-3 FT. Probably a fair result.

This season has certainly been one to remember. It has been an absolute pleasure being part of this wonderful group guys. We have exceeded everyone’s and probably our own expectation’s by most likely clinching second place and reaching the cup final. We would like to thank everyone for their support over the months. From the players, to the vets who regularly turn out to watch, the management team, the wives who also support and John for always twying his best.

We urge everyone to come along to the cup final to support but firstly let’s all enjoy the best football tournament at Easter in the far east on the 8th/9th at Patana.
