This Sunday saw Germans All Stars kick off their first league game against Bangkok United.
The first game saw a big squad come together at our home turf at Bangkok Patana school. The coaching team had decided to invite all available players to create good atmosphere.
Our tactics for the game saw us continue with our high midfield pressing from the wingers which has worked very well in pre-season so far.
After roughly 5 minutes played a quick taking throw from Damian saw Tommy with possession inside the box who then laid the ball off to Dominik for the first goal of the season!!!
Despite scoring so early GAS didn’t stop pressing or attacking, which quickly resulted in a 3-0 courtesy of a Dominik Schaufler hat-trick. Dominik scored again to make it 4-0 which got followed up nicely with a solo effort by Julian.
The first half ended with a cool slotted penalty by Yan to end the half at 6-0 for the German All Stars. The second half saw a ring of changes made, which led to a bit of a sluggish start by the Germans All Stars. One of those players coming on was Thomas who made sure we got back on track with his first goal of the season. 7-0 game surely done and dusted.
This comfortable lead ensured that everyone who came today could get some minutes on the pitch. It was new player JJ who released Thomas down the left and he cleared away from his marker to slot home the 8-0.
The game died down a bit after this and the last action of the day would come from a free kick of Bangkok United to at least give them a consolation goal.
All in all a good start to the season with an emphatic 8-1 victory.
Man of the Match was Damian who continues his good form to the season.
